It is about a<strong> technical solution that has many advantages<\/strong> than the classic smoke suction systems, even if being technologically advanced requires a good technical culture and the willingness to change some process habits that the welder is not always willing to do.<\/p>\n<h2>Let&#8217;s see how it works<\/h2>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Typical action of the suction torch: <strong>the welding fumes are sucked into the source<\/strong> where they are produced, thanks to a &#8220;mini&#8221; suction hood positioned on the torch.<\/p>\n<p>This obviously makes the system unique because if the welding fumes are picked up before, <strong>obviously they can not disperse after<\/strong>, so we will no longer have the classic smoke in mid-air around the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The high-pressure suction effect that passes through the suction torch along its entire length therefore simultaneously performs <strong>two decisive functions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The extraction of fumes and micro welding dust and at the same time creates a barrier to protect the welding bath from drafts in the environment, very useful in shipyards, in large outdoor workshops, or welding near open doors.<\/li>\n<li>The dynamic cooling of the torch, which, due to the high speed of the air drawn in (50 m\/s) through which it is passed along its entire length, creates a high direct or indirect heat dissipation that the torch accumulates. The traditional liquid cooling becomes superfluous, at least up to 350 amps, that would make the torch even heavier and stiffer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The welding fume suction torch must of course be connected via a 50 mm diameter hose to a portable or fixed suction system that creates a vacuum to capture the fumes through the torch.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p5BSgiVaCNQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>With regard to the decrees on occupational hygiene, the suction torch, like almost all the systems proposed by Secureair\u00ae, allows to stay below 70% of the maximum levels of pollution (TLV 5 mg\/mc) established by law and therefore well below the limit of &#8220;area of action&#8221; within which preclinical signs of occupational disease cannot be detected. It should be noted that large companies require safety margins of 50% for air treatment equipment compared to the maximum limits allowed by law. <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Threshold_Limit_Value\">For more information on TLVs see here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Suction system: centralized or with single system?<\/h3>\n<p>The technical solutions are normally of two types, both require high pressure suction systems, different from each other only according to how many torches work in the department.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>In case of a few locations (2-3 max) a single mobile or fixed aspirator for each is the best solution. In this way you do not suck large quantities of air from the environment, for example avoiding the problem of heating in winter typical of the suction systems that suck air that we heated with great expenditure of economic resources,<\/li>\n<li><strong>No discretion of use:<\/strong> the operator cannot &#8220;choose&#8221; not to use the extractor or forget it as it happens with classic systems. Fume extraction is part of the process and is always used in this way and there is no loss of time to reposition the suction arm or other hoses (proven savings of up to 50 minutes per turn),<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indispensable in the case of large pieces to be welded:<\/strong> thanks to the <a href=\"\/?p=5843\">torch with integrated extraction<\/a>, the operator can also reach difficult working points with guaranteed smoke extraction.
